Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center, and Lil Toot Aargh! The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) & Santa Barbara Natural History Museum (SBNHM) Sea Center have joined together to host a swashbuckling day of special family fun in the Harbor.
Members of the museums will receive free admission to both museums and for most activities. Non-members must pay regular admission prices for both institutions, but also get to participate in all activities. As a bonus, new or renewing members that day will get free admission to both organizations and a certificate for a ride on Lil Toot for four people that is redeemable through Dec. 31, 2019.
The Lil Toot water taxi will take members back and forth (depending on space available) from 9:30 – 12:30 at no charge with receipt/wrist band
Some of the fun activities being planned at SBMM include: •LEGO ship building station •Face painting •Storytelling •Tattoo coloring book •Treasure hunt •Dress up as a Buccaneer, Merman or Mermaid and win some pirate treasure! ~ ~ ~
Since 2000, the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum has featured many artifacts and stories to share the history of the Santa Barbara Channel with more than 40,000 visitors annually and provides year-round experiential maritime history and marine science education for local youth. Featuring the impressive First-Order Fresnel Lighthouse Lens from Point Conception, SBMM's current exhibits explore The History of Oil in the Santa Barbara Channel, Honda Disaster, and Wives and Daughters: Keepers of the Light.
