Based on the historic Newsboy strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly, a defiant newspaper boy with dreams of moving west. When Pulitzer and Hearst increase the cost of newspapers at the newsies expense, the young group has no choice but to take action against the publishing giants.With a broad and bright cast and crew on his side, critically acclaimed director, Clark Sayre, brings the Disney Pilot to life. Honored as one of only five schools in the country to pilot this Disney production, Dos Pueblos’ Newsies is proud to announce this production includes gender-blind casting as well.
