SUMMER CAMP GUIDE 2020:Garden Street Academy Hosts June Summer Camps

Due to uncertainty with events surrounding Covid-19, we are canceling our 2020 summer camps out of an abundance of caution.

This June Garden Street Academy located  in the heart of Santa Barbara will be hosting three types of summer camps for kids and teens, an Alice in Wonderland Theater Camp, THREE Visual Arts Camps, and if you cannot decide between theater or art, you can do both in the Performing and Visual Art Camp.

THEATER CAMP

Garden Street Academy Theater Camp: Alice in Wonderland

Be a star! Join an exciting three weeks of acting, singing, and dancing at Garden Street Academy’s Theater Arts Camp as we present Alice in Wonderland. Build relationships, learn technical skills, and grow as performers in a fun and educational environment. At the end of the session, actors will present the musical to friends and family with a full set, lights, and costumes.

• Dates: June 8-25 / End of the camp performance June 26th at 5:30pm. 
• Hours: M-F 8:30-3:30
• Ages 6-15
• Tuition: $650/3 weeks

VISUAL ART CAMPS

Bring out the artist in your children! Learn to connect inspiration in a variety of artistic mediums!

 SESSION 1 OR 2: Visual Art Camp: Animal Art

Students will have the opportunity to explore art through a variety of different mediums. We will gather inspiration from stories, nature walks, and the simple everyday items that challenge us to draw more realistically. We will learn techniques to build confidence and have fun experimenting with watercolor, paint, chalk, pastel, and more!

SESSION 3 OR 4: Visual Art Camp: Drawing and Painting

Students who are eager to improve their observational drawing and painting techniques will find this camp a fun way to build their artistic tool kit. Using watercolor, paint, charcoal, and graphite, campers will improve their ability to draw and paint. Campers will create several pieces while learning a variety of techniques that will help them grow as artists.

SESSION 5 OR 6: Visual Art Camp: Paint like Bob Ross

Students will learn new techniques to paint bold landscapes, inspired by the master, Bob Ross! From snowy mountains, to summer sunsets, students will take away valuable techniques to put in their tool box. We will experiment with these techniques with a variety of mediums.

PERFORMING & VISUAL ART CAMP

SESSION 1 OR 2: Performing and Visual Art Camp

Can’t decide whether you want to perform or create? In this camp, you can do it all! This camp offers opportunities to sing, play instruments, dance, craft, and sew. Campers will learn to perform in an ensemble, create music and dance videos, and design sets and costumes.
