Last week we had a blast at SeaWorld San Diego. It was a really fun day that the entire family enjoyed with thrilling rides, encounters with the sea animals and a Sesame Street Summer Parade.
I will warn you bring lots of sunscreen it did get hot and also expect crowds. One of the new rides for 2018 is the Electric Eel Roller Coaster which had a HUGE line, an hour long so while we wanted to check it out, we just didn't have the patience to wait that long. Complementing the Electric Eel roller coaster is a hypnotic live eel habitat featuring a collection of moray eels. The eel habitat, located at the edge of the Ocean Explorer realm already part of SeaWorld, features large viewing windows where you can plunge into the world of the eel as they swim and dart through the caves and crevasses of their naturalistic deep-ocean environment. We really loved this exhibit. I had never seen Eels this close-up and so it was really cool to see them swimming in their behind the glass ocean habitat.

Most of the other rides were not as crowded and we had a blast. One of my favorites was the Wild Arctic 3-D ride which simulates a Helicopter ride. Soar through the breathtaking, perilous, icy landscapes of the Arctic Circle. Put yourself in your pilot’s hands as he maneuvers treacherous frozen peaks and valleys en route to Base Station Wild Arctic. This was a ride we all enjoyed though it does get rocky as you fly over the Wild Arctic. I would suggest this ride for ages 3+ but if you get dizzy or have back problems to avoid it. After the ride we LOVED exploring the Wild Arctic which is an underground world where you can check out the animals in the Arctic. This is a very interactive exhibit and you can check it out without going on the ride.

We also got to check out all the animal exhibits as we enjoyed the park from Penguins to Whales to Flamingos and Star Fish. Harold and the older girls had a blast going on the rides in the park while Katherine and I had fun watching the dolphins frolic, seeing Sea Otters, Sea Turtles and Walruses up close and in person. We spent a lot of time in the ride area and playzone themed around Sesame Street.

Finishing out our day I got to check out the Sesame Street Party Parade which only happens at 4:30pm on weekends thru September 2. It gets packed and seats were hard to find. I suggest you stake out a spot in front of the Dinner With Elmo & Friends Restaurant. The Parade ends there and it was the least crowded area on the Parade Route. The parade was a lot of fun and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Here is a small video I made of it:
